
Detroit City FC Announces USL Championship Pre-Season Schedule

DETROIT, Michigan - Detroit City FC has announced its pre-season schedule as preparation for the club's sophomore campaign in the USL Championship gets underway.
The players will first report for duty on Thursday, February 2 for entry-physicals before the first day of training on Friday, February 3.
Following the first week of training, Detroit City FC will take the field in their first preseason match, away to Oakland University on Friday, February 10 with kickoff scheduled for 9:30 AM.
From there, the first team and the incoming trialists will pack their bags for a trip out west for the 2023 Desert Showcase in Tucson, Arizona. While in Arizona, Le Rouge will face off against New Mexico United of the Western Conference of the USL Championship on February 12 with kickoff slated for 11 AM local time. These two sides met in the 2022 USL Championship regular season at Keyworth Stadium on July 23. A match that ended in a 2-2 draw and will meet again in the regular season this year on July 8 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Le Rouge will also be taking on Grand Canyon University of the Western Athletic Conference on February 17 at 9 AM local time.
Detroit City FC will then return home to take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the Eastern Conference of the USL Championship on February 21 in Brighton, Michigan in a closed-door friendly. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 PM. Both of their matches last season ended in 1-1 draws with Maxi Rodriguez scoring both goals for Detroit City FC.
Then, on February 25, Detroit City FC will welcome the Michigan State University Spartans to Keyworth Stadium for a closed-door friendly with kickoff scheduled for noon.
While all of Detroit City FC's pre-season matches will be closed to the public, the club will be providing in-match updates, lineups, halftime, and full-time scores, and full match recaps at detcityfc.com as well as on their social media channels.
