COLUMBUS, OHIO - The Columbus Destroyers have signed free-agent wide receiver Tony Locke, Head Coach Doug Kay announced today.

"I am very excited to be back playing in the community where I went to college," Locke said. "I still have a lot of family and friends in the area who I will be excited to play in front of. I'm looking forward to playing for a team I think is on the rise with a lot of talented players and a great coaching staff. Signing with the Destroyers is the right situation and best thing for me and my career right now," he added.

Locke (5-11, 195, The Ohio State University) spent his last two seasons in the Arena Football League with the Los Angeles Avengers. In 2006, he finished second on the team in every receiving category including receptions (75), yards (1,128) and touchdowns (16). In 2005, he led the Avenger receiving corps with 1,182 yards and 27 touchdowns on 82 receptions.

The Urbana (OH) High School standout made his debut in the AFL with the Destroyers in 2004 playing in two games and catching five passes for 39 yards before signing with the Albany Conquest of arenafootball2. He set the Conquest single-season record for touchdowns scored with 43 (39 receiving, three kickoff returns and one rushing).

At two-year letterman at The Ohio State University, Locke suited up in 20 games and registered three receptions for 29 yards and 2.5 tackles, playing mostly on special teams. The Springfield, Ohio graduated with a biology degree (pre-med) in 2000.

Among his many talents, Locke is a card carrying member of the Screen Actors Guild. He played the role of Ray Rhodes, currently a defensive coach for the Seattle Seahawks, in last summers hit movie "Invincible."
