Richmond, VA - (Wednesday, June 25, 2008) - Richmond Kickers Destiny midfielder Molly McKeon was recently named VISAA Girl's Soccer Division I State Player of the Year and earned a spot on the Division I First Team All-State. McKeon is a newcomer to the Destiny roster in 2008 after graduating from Collegiate this spring. So far this season, she has earned two starts in five games played.

The former Richmond Strikers youth player earned the VISAA Player of the Year honors for the second time after taking the title as a sophomore. Her quickness in the midfield was instrumental in leading Collegiate to the VISAA state title, scoring 18 goals, including one in the state final against Norfolk Academy. McKeon is a three-time All-Metro First-Team selection and has been named All-State three years in a row. She will continue her career at the University of Virginia this fall.

Joining McKeon on the First Team is fellow Destiny midfielder Kristin Lescaleet out of Atlee High School. Additionally Richmond Kickers U-18 Academy players, Hunter Cheatham and Patrick Innes were named to the Boys Soccer Division I First Team All-State.
