
Dessau shuts out Freedom

Erik Dessau tossed the first complete game shutout of his professional career Friday night as the Grizzlies defeated the Florence Freedom 5-0 in front of a 4,844 at GCS Ballpark. The win completed a three-game sweep by the Grizzlies. They have won three in a row and five of their last six games.
Dessau improved to 2-0 with the win and has not allowed an earned run in two starts. He allowed just five hits. He struck out eight and walked just one.
Freddy Lopez was the hitting star for the evening. Lopez hit a pair of two-run home runs for four of the Grizzlies five runs on the night. Lopez was 2-4. Greg Isaacson was also 2-4.
The Grizzlies head back on the road to begin a three-game series at Traverse City, MI. The Grizzlies and Beach Bums begin the series with a 6:05 (CT) game Saturday night.
