July 18, 2007 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Sussex Skyhawks News Release
On a beautiful Wednesday aftternoon at Skylands Park, the Skyhawks took on the Nashua Pride. It was a back and forth game between the two teams, but unfortunately the Skyhawks were defeated 7-5. The Skyhawks jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the third inning, but immediately the Pride responded with a powerful two run homerun from hitter Rich Giannotti in the fourth. After the Pride extended their lead to 3-1 in the sixth inning, the Skyhawks offense came thundering back scoring four runs on five hits to take the lead 5-3. Unfortuantely, the Skyhawks bullpen could not salvage the lead allowing the Pride to score four unanswered runs in the eighth. The Skyhawks will look to split the series with the Pride tomorrow at beautiful Skylands Park at 7:05 p.m. The Pride will send Hideki Nagasaka (3-0) to the mound to take on Ryan Lobban (1-4) for the Skyhawks.
