Desperados Sign Church to Practice Squad

Dallas Desperados News Release
After waiving QB Walter Church on May 5, the Dallas Desperados signed Church to their practice squad on Friday.
After spending the first month of the season on Dallas' practice squad, Church was signed to the active roster on March 4. He saw action in two of the next four games, including starting the game at Philadelphia (4/4) in place of the injured Gauntt (sprained knee). In the two games he played, he completed 35-of-57 passes for 491 yards, eight touchdowns and an interception. He was placed on Reserve/Injured on April 9 to deal with personal issues. He was activated from Reserve/Injured on April 30 and immediately saw action against New York (5/1) for the injured Gauntt (elbow contusion), completing eight-of-18 passes for 76 yards and three interceptions in a quarter-and-a-half of action.

The Dallas Desperados travel to Austin to take on the Wranglers this Sunday at 2:00 p.m. The game can be heard on KTCK-AM, SportsRadio 1310. Dallas returns to the American Airlines Center on Saturday, May 22 to host the Columbus Destroyers at 7:30 p.m. (Dallas time).
