Desperados Host Force in First Round Playoff Game

The Dallas Desperados, who clinched the Central Division crown with their victory over the Grand Rapids Rampage last Sunday, will host the Georgia Force in a first-round playoff game Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the American Airlines Center. The Desperados earned their game against the Force by claiming a No. 5 seed in the AFL's Drive to ArenaBowl XVII with their 62-51 victory over the Rampage. Dallas outscored Grand Rapids 48-23 over the final 30 minutes and 22 seconds to leave Michigan with the Central Division crown.

NBC Sports will televise Saturday's game against Georgia, with Tom Hammond and Pat Haden calling the action. The Desperados-Force game is the only Arena Football League playoff game scheduled for Saturday and will be broadcast to a national audience.

The Desperados begin preparations for the Force on Wednesday, May 21 at Texas Stadium (weather permitting) and will continue Thursday (May 22) at Texas Stadium (weather permitting). On Friday (May 23), the team will hold a short walk-thru practice at 9:45 a.m. at Texas Stadium. In the event of inclement weather, the club will email notice of the new practice location. Coach Avezzano will host his weekly press briefing on Wednesday at approximately 11:30 a.m. in the visitor's locker room at Texas Stadium.
