Urbandale, Iowa- Seven different Des Moines Buccaneers scored as the host Bucs defeated the RoughRiders 7-3 in preseason action Saturday night.

The Bucs emerged from a wild first period with a 4-2 lead.

Des Moines' Brett Skalski jammed the puck in from the side of the net to open the scoring just 1:56 into the game.

Just 29 seconds later Des Moines doubled the lead when J.P. Burkemper capitalized on a turnover by Rider goaltender Troy Grosenick and swept the puck into the empty Cedar Rapids net.

At 5:14 the Riders' Matt Donovan cut the gap to 2-1 with a one time blast from the top of the left wing circle.

The Bucs reestablished the two goal lead when Alex Chiasson swept home a rebound just over two minutes later.

Rocco Carzo finished off a 2-on-1 rush to stretch the gap to 4-1 at the 10:34 mark.

The Riders answered a mere 53 seconds later when Brett Gensler buried a Robin Bergman centering feed from the doorstep.

At 13:58 of the second period Ami Peled's power play goal stretched the gap to 5-2. Peled's wrist shot from the blue line sailed past Rider relief netminder Mike Johnson. Johnson had entered the game midway through the second period.

The Riders produced a quick response when Greg Burke fired the puck home from the slot just 52 seconds later.

Des Moines would put the game away with a pair of third period goals.

The Buccaneers widened the lead to 6-3 at 3:21 of the third. Andrew Himelson scored from the side of the net as Johnson scrambled back into position after stepping out of the crease.

The Bucs were on the power play when Ryan McKiernan scored from close range to make it 7-3 at 6:33.
