
Buccaneers rough up Cedar Rapids

DES MOINES, IA- The Des Moines Buccaneers defeated the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders, 7 to 3, in an exciting pre-season game tonight at Buccaneer Arena.
The first goal of the game was scored at the 17:59 mark by Brett Skalski, with assists from HT Lenz and Rocco Carzo. The Buccaneers followed with three more goals in the first period scored by JP Burkemper, Alex Chiasson and Rocco Carzo.
In the second period, Ami Peled scored the only Buccaneer goal in the second period, while Cedar Rapids answered with a goal by Greg Burke.
The Buccaneers scored their final two goals in the third period, the first by Andrew Himelson and the second by Ryan McKiernan.
The Buccaneers are on the road to Cedar Rapids tomorrow playing against the riders in their second preseason game.
The Bucs play their home opener at Buccaneer Arena on October 4th, 2008 at 7:00pm against the Tri City Storm. It's Buc-tober Fest so make sure to stop by before the game for free beer samples, a tailgate with brats and a live LAZER 103.3 remote.
