RedHawks lefty Derek Lee pitched a complete-game, three-hit shutout Wednesday night as Oklahoma took its second straight from New Orleans, 8-0.

Lee faced just 28 batters, one more than the minimum, in the 91-pitch gem, which was the RedHawks' fourth shutout of the year and third by an individual.

Ricardo Rodriguez tossed two complete-game shutouts and started the other, a combined blanking of Albuquerque with Lou Pote April 26.

Oklahoma out-hit New Orleans 16-3 Wednesday, led by three hit nights from Esteban German and Jace Brewer. Jason Botts, in his first game back since being optioned from Texas, hit a three-run homer in a six-run third inning. The RedHawks have belted a three-run homer in each of the first three games this series.

Every RedHawk had at least one hit as the team improved to 47-51 on the season and won back-to-back games for the first time since July 5-6.

New Orleans dropped to 43-52.

Matt White, who had allowed just one run on three hits in six innings against Oklahoma June 11, took the loss by allowing six runs, five earned, on 11 hits in six innings Wednesday. He falls to 4-4, while Lee, who tossed two shutouts in the Atlantic League earlier this season, improved to 1-1.

John Hudgins takes on Zephyrs right-hander Donnie Bridges Thursday in the series finale at 7:05 p.m. CDT. Up 2-1 in New Orleans, Oklahoma will shoot for its first series win since taking three of four from Albuquerque June 4-7.

The broadcast can be heard on Super Talk 930 WKY and Sportsjuice.com.
