PORTLAND, Ore. - Justin Germano allowed just four hits and posted his third complete-game shutout in two seasons with the Beavers to lead Portland to a 2-0 blanking of the Sacramento River Cats before 4,131 at PGE Park Tuesday night.

Germano (7-6) faced just four batters over the minimum, striking out five and walking two. The right-hander now owns three of the Beavers' four nine-inning shutouts since the Triple-A franchise returned to Portland in 2001.

Germano's effort came at a much-needed time for the Beavers, who used five different pitchers the night before as they find themselves down to three regular starters.

Dustin Delucchi was 3-for-5 and drove in an insurance run in the bottom of the eighth for the Beavers, who evened their record at 48-48. Delucchi has now reached base 19 of his last 20 games.

The Beavers' first run came in the fourth. Josh Barfield led off the inning with a single before eventually making his way to third and scoring on a two-out infield single by Bobby Scales.

Portland, which has won the last six meetings with Sacramento at PGE Park, hosts the River Cats (50-42) again Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m.

NOTES: Beavers outfielder Adam Hyzdu was traded to Boston on Tuesday for right-handed pitcher Scott Cassidy, who is expected to be added to the Beavers' active roster on Wednesday ... the San Diego Padres will be holding an open player tryout at PGE Park on Tuesday, July 23, beginning with a 10 a.m. registration.
