Denver Outlaws Set for Annual Mile High Fourth of July Celebration

July 1, 2014 - Major League Lacrosse (MLL)
Denver Outlaws News Release

DENVER - The first-place Denver Outlaws (7-2) will hold their annual Independence Day Celebration game this Friday, July 4 at 7 p.m. MDT at Sports Authority Field at Mile High against the Boston Cannons. Denver looks to extend its 15-game regular-season home win streak, which dates back to June 2, 2012.

The stadium's clear-bag policy will be in place for the game. See the end of this release for more information on what items are allowed into the stadium. Click here to watch a video on the bag policy. Click here for a Q&A about the policy.

The Mile High Fourth of July is presented by Miller Lite and offers Denver's best Fourth of July close-proximity experience with fireworks launched from inside the bowl at Sports Authority Field. The fireworks are paired with a music video tribute on the stadium's 220 feet long by 40 foot high THUNDERVISION screen.

"Only one game each season is more important than the Fourth of July game at Mile High and that's the MLL Championship at the end of the season. Every team in the league hopes that their schedule will include playing at Mile High for the Fourth of July, and in my tenure with the Outlaws we have never lost that game," said General Manager Tony Seaman.

"Every year the amazing fans of Denver set a new MLL record with attendance and every Outlaw is looking forward to doing that again this year."

Since their inaugural season in 2006, the Outlaws have set a professional lacrosse attendance record with each Independence Day Celebration game. Last July 4, the Outlaws set an attendance record for the eighth-straight year as 31,019 fans watched the team defeat the New York Lizards 16-7.

A total of 189,606 fans have come through the turnstiles at Sports Authority Field for the eight games that have been played to date. The increased fan support has translated onto the field, as is demonstrated by the team's 6-2 record on Independence Day Celebration games.

The team is offering a package deal with Elitch Gardens and the 4th of July game. The Elitch Gardens ticket can be used for any regular operating day at the theme and water park. Those tickets are available via Ticketmaster using the promo code JULY4.

Tickets for the game start at just $22 and can be purchased online at http://www.denveroutlaws.com/single-game/ or over the phone by calling 303-OUTLAWS.
