Denver Outlaws Announce 2008 Schedule

DENVER-January 17, 2008- The Major League Lacrosse schedule has officially been released and the Denver Outlaws look forward to an exciting third season of the best outdoor lacrosse action in the world. Denver opens its 2008 season with a home game against rival Los Angeles Riptide on May 17, with the CHSAA Boys Championship Game preceding the Outlaws game.
The Outlaws 2008 schedule features six homes games from May through July, as well as the 2008 MLL All-Star game at INVESCO Field at Mile High on July 17. Fans can look forward to fireworks after the July 4 game against the San Francisco Dragons. Last season, 19,793 fans turned out on the Fourth of July to watch the Chicago Machine battle the Outlaws, setting a professional lacrosse attendance record. The home schedule also includes an Eastern Conference matchup against the New Jersey Pride (May 31), shootouts with Western Conference foes San Francisco Dragons (June 14 and July 4) and Chicago (June 21 and July 26). All Outlaws home games are on Saturdays and begin at 7:00 p.m., with the exception of the July 4 game (Friday) and the MLL All-Star Game (Thursday, 8:00 p.m.).
Denver takes to the road six times in 2008: Washington (May 24), Los Angeles (June 7 and July 12), Chicago (June 29), San Francisco (July 19) and Boston (Aug. 9). Two particular road games against Washington and Boston will pose unique challenges for the Outlaws. In week two, new Bayhawks Head Coach, Jarred Testa, will face his old team when the Outlaws travel to Washington for the Bawhawks' home opener at George Mason University. In week thirteen, the Outlaws will face the Boston Cannons for the first time in league history at Harvard Stadium.
The MLL season concludes in Boston where the 2008 NB ZIP MLL Championship Weekend is set to be played at Harvard Stadium on August 23rd and 24th. The Semi-Final games will be held on Saturday, August 23 with the two Semi-Final winners advancing to the NB ZIP MLL Championship Game on Sunday, August 24.
Outlaws home games will feature a variety of seating options, from family-friendly priced seating to the "Corral" - a western-themed section on the east sideline where fans can experience the Outlaws hard-nosed approach to the game up-close, on the field. Outlaws games will also feature a festival atmosphere with pre- and post-game entertainment and events.
