Denver Cutthroats Fall in Arizona

Prescott Valley - The Denver Cutthroats and Arizona Sundogs met for the final night in the three-game series on Saturday, March 22 at Tim's Toyota Center in Prescott Valley, Arizona. The Sundogs took an early start to defeat the Cutthroats 4-2.

The Arizona Sundogs took a strong lead and left the Denver Cutthroats scoreless after the first period. Brandon Coccimiglio (Jason Morgan, Garrett Clarke) scored the first goal of the night for the Sundogs. Mark Isherwood (Coccimiglio, Jordan Clendenning) found a slot past Denver's John Griggs to give Arizona a 2-0 lead. Less than two minutes later, Kevin Baker (Shawn Limpright, Bryan Cameron) scored the Sundogs third goal of the game.

Jason Cohen (Garett Bembridge, Cam Reid) scored the opening goal of the night for Denver and his first of the season. Teammate T.J. Fox (Vincent Arseneau, Cohen) followed in suit to cut the Cutthroats deficit by one. It wasn't until 27 seconds remained in the second period, that Bryan Cameron (Limpright) doubled the Sundogs lead 4-2.

Neither team managed to find the net in the third period, leaving Arizona victorious over Denver 4-2. Saturday night was the final match up between the Sundogs and Cutthroats in the 2013-14 regular season.

The Denver Cutthroats 2013-14 regular season will finish on the road. The Cutthroats will head to Allen, Texas to face off with the Americans on Friday, March 28 and Saturday, March 29. Denver will then head to Tulsa, Oklahoma for the final game in the regular season on Sunday, March 30 against the Oilers. For the latest information, visit DenverCutthroats.com.
