Denard Span to Start Again Tomorrow Night in Hagerstown

HAGERSTOWN M.D. - Washington Nationals center fielder Denard Span will be making his second consecutive rehab start tomorrow night for the Hagerstown Suns (3-4) when they host the Lakewood BlueClaws (4-4) in the second game of a four game series at 6:05pm at Municipal Stadium. Span is working his way back from a right core muscle injury.

In Thursday night's series opener Span played seven innings and collected three hits in four at-bats, including a solo homerun and an RBI single. Span hit .302 (184-610) in 147 games with the Nationals last season. He is in his eighth season in the majors and his third with the Nationals after spending his first five major league seasons with the Minnesota Twins. Span has a career .286 average in 889 career big league games. He was drafted by the Twins with the 20th overall pick in the 2002 draft.

The first 500 fans 21 and older coming to Municipal Stadium tomorrow night, and Saturday evening, will receive a specialty Suns mug presented by Traveler Beer Company. The mug will entitle fans to beer discounts at Municipal Stadium throughout the season. Gates open to the general public tomorrow and Saturday at 5:00pm.
