Winnipeg Goldeyes News Release

Dan DeLucia's time in Winnipeg was short but it was no less sweet.

Goldeyes manager Rick Forney announced today that the Blue Jays had acquired the southpaw's contract. He left town yesterday bound for Florida, where he will undergo a physical at Toronto's minor league headquarters. From there, he is expected to begin the year with the Midwest (A) League's Lansing Lugnuts.

DeLucia signed with Winnipeg two weeks ago after spending the spring with Detroit. He played one season in the Tigers system following four years at NCAA Div. I Ohio State.

Winnipeg will open training camp Friday morning at 11:00 with 26 players on the roster, split evenly between pitchers and position players.
