Del Castillo Comes Through For Silver Sox In 5-4 Walk-Off Victory Against The Rainiers

Reno, Nev. - With two outs in the bottom of the ninth, Adrian Del Castillo delivered, smoking a line-drive single into right field, which drove in the game-winning run and secured a thrilling 5-4 comeback victory for the Silver Sox (18-18) over the Tacoma Rainiers (19-17) Thursday night at Greater Nevada Field.

Reno has found their stride, going 5-1 in their past six games, and have reached the .500 mark for the first time since April 26 th .

Del Castillo finished the night going 2-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. The 24-year-old has been hot at the plate, going 8-for-18 (.444) with three RBI in the past four games.

Cristian Mena took a no-decision on Thursday, turning his second quality start of the season after limiting Tacoma to two runs on four hits and four walks through 6.0 innings, he punched out four. The 21-year-old now owns a 3.83 ERA, good for seventh in the Pacific Coast League, and a 41:22 K:BB.

Andres Chaparro headlined the scoring for the Silver Sox, going 3-for-4 while driving in three runs. The Venezuela native has been scorching hot to begin May, going 14-for-31 (.451) with five extra-base hits and nine RBI.

Reno will look to maintain their momentum in Friday's matchup against the Tacoma Rainiers, the Triple-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:05 p.m. PT.
