Chicago Rush News Release

Rush WR/LB DeJuan Alfonzo has been named AFL Ironman of the Week for the second-consecutive week for his performance in Chicago's 63-46 win over the defending ArenaBowl champion Colorado Crush Sunday in Denver, the Arena Football League announced.

Alfonzo was named Ironman of the Game for the fourth-straight week after catching seven passes for 63 yards and two touchdowns, recording three tackles, and recovering two fumbles - including one he returned 20 yards for a TD.

"DeJuan has been playing great football," said Rush head coach Mike Hohensee. "He has a knack for being around the football and making big plays when we need them the most. His play has been one of the keys to our late season run."

With its win in Colorado, the Rush has advanced to the AFL semifinals for the third-consecutive season. This week the Rush travels to San Jose to take on the SaberCats in the American Conference Final. Saturday's game, which kicks off at 2 p.m. central time, will be broadcast in Chicago on NBC 5 and heard on WCKG, 105.9 FM. The winner will advance to play the National Conference champion June 11, in ArenaBowl XX Las Vegas.
