
Blaze add Ron James to coaching staff

SALT LAKE CITY - The Utah Blaze announce the hiring of RON JAMES as Offensive/Defensive Line Coach for the 2007 season. Terms of the deal were not disclosed per team policy.
"Ron is a great addition to the staff," said Blaze head coach/general manager DANNY WHITE. "He is known as one of the best teachers in the game and he will help us on the line as we look to improve for 2007."
James' vast coaching resume includes eight years of Arena Football League experience and a combined 14 years at the collegiate level.
James spent five seasons with the Las Vegas Gladiators as head coach (2005-06) and assistant head coach/line coach (2002-04). Before joining the Gladiators, he was the line coach and director of player personnel for the Houston ThunderBears (AFL) from 1999-2001.
From 1998-99, James served as assistant sprint coach, offensive line coach and admissions support officer for Army at West Point. From 1993-97, he was an associate head coach, offensive coordinator and defensive coordinator during his tenure at Kentucky Wesleyan College. From 1992-93, he served as defensive coordinator/secondary coach at Hartwick (N.Y.) College. From 1989-91, he was defensive coordinator/linebacker coach at St. Lawrence (N.Y.) University and began his coaching career in 1986 as a linebacker coach at Siena College in Albany, N.Y.
