HARLINGEN - United League Baseball's Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings announced in-between games of Thursday's doubleheader that starting pitcher Misael DeJesus (6-3, 235) is the Johnny's True Value Most Valuable Player for the Month of July.
In July, DeJesus was 4-2 with a 3.03 ERA. In six games (all starts), he pitched 38.2 innings, allowing 32 hits (.225 opponents batting average) and 13 walks while striking out 52.
DeJesus struck out a season-high 13 in a 9-1 win over the San Angelo Colts on July 9. He allowed one run on four hits and one walk.
