HARLINGEN - Rio Grande Valley WhiteWings starter Misael DeJesus (2-4) struck out 10 in seven innings, but the WhiteWings were 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position in a 3-0 loss to the Amarillo Dillas Monday at Harlingen Field.

The Dillas (30-21) got on the board against DeJesus in the top of the third. With one out, Andrew Wong came up with the Dillas' first hit of the game. After a pair of walks loaded the bases with two outs, Daryl Jones hit a dribbler to third for an RBI-single to make it 1-0.

Dillas starter Ryan Mitchell (4-2), pitching on three days rest, faced the minimum through three innings, allowing just a single to Arlon Quiroz, who was caught stealing. With two outs in the top of the fourth, Yeurys Tejeda doubled, but Luany Sanchez grounded out to end the threat.

Welington Dotel led off the fifth with a single, but was caught stealing. With two outs, Eric Gonzalez doubled, but Welinson Baez struck out swinging.

Roberto Rodriguez singled and stole second with one out in the bottom of the sixth, but Kevin Griffin and Tejeda had back-to-back strikeouts to end the inning.

The WhiteWings had runners at first and third with one out in the top of the seventh, but Gonzalez lined out and Baez flied out to end the threat.

Mitchell pitched a complete game shutout, striking out nine while allowing seven hits and one walk.
