JACKSONVILLE - The 2019 National Arena League Champion Jacksonville Sharks have announced today the signing of Defensive Lineman Kevin Thompson for the 2020 season. This will be his second year of arena football and first with the Sharks.
Thompson (6'3, 245) was a part of the Sioux Falls Storm for the 2019 season where he played in 6 games as a defensive lineman. Joining the team late in the season Thompson helped the Storm to a playoff berth and a 2019 United Bowl Championship victory over the Arizona Rattlers.
Thompson finished his college career as a Defensive Lineman for Bethune-Cookman University. Thompson spent 4 years with the Wildcat's totaling 113 total tackles, 22.5 TFLs, and 6 sacks. During his last season as a Wildcat, he played in 12 games racking up 46 total tackles, 9.5 TFLs, and 3 sacks. Following the 2018 season, Thompson was one of four Bethune-Cookman student-athletes selected to play in the Fifth Annual FCS National Bowl game. Thompson is from Baltimore, MD and played football at Benjamin Franklin High School.
