Defensemen Haar, Nagy Sign Contracts for 2015-16

ANCHORAGE, AK- The Alaska Aces are pleased to announce defensemen Garrett Haar and Nilan Nagy have signed contracts for the upcoming season.

Head coach Rob Murray made the announcement Tuesday.

A native of Huntington Beach, CA, the 22 year old Haar was an ECHL All-Star with South Carolina last season. He scored 4 goals and dished out 12 assists for 16 points in 35 games. The 6', 208 pound blueliner was a 7th round draft pick of the Washington Capitals in 2011.

"Garrett has a tremendous offensive upside while being a responsible defender", said Murray. "Definitely on a career upswing".

A native of Canonsburg, PA, the 6', 196 pound Nagy played in 6 games for the Aces last season, scoring 1 goal and a plus-2 while on the ice.

Prior to joining Alaska, the 23 year old played 4 years at Holy Cross of Atlantic Hockey, scoring once and adding 21 assists.

"Nilan is strong, skates well and defends well", said Murray. "He's a stay-at-home defender and has an opportunity to really help us".
