Defenseman Matt Mackenzie Reassigned to Gwinnett

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that defenseman Matt MacKenzie has been reassigned to the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL.

MacKenzie, 20, has recorded four assists and 11 penalty minutes while appearing in 17 games with the Amerks this season. The rookie defenseman has also played in three games with Gwinnett where he picked up one assist. Prior to this season, MacKenzie played four seasons in the Western Hockey League, finishing his junior career with 18 goals, 80 assists and 98 points in 225 games with Calgary and Tri-City. A native of New Westminster, British Columbia, MacKenzie was selected by the Buffalo Sabres in the third round (83rd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
