Defenseman Added As Wranglers Complete Trade With Phoenix

LAS VEGAS, NV - The Las Vegas Wranglers announced today the team has completed a trade with the Phoenix RoadRunners. Defenseman Gerard Miller has been named as the future consideration in the Las Vegas-Phoenix Sean O'Connor trade.

The Wranglers now own the rights for the 2008-09 season for defenseman Gerard Miller. The 25-year old enters his fourth season of professional hockey after splitting the 2007-08 season between the American Hockey League and the ECHL for five different teams. In 41 games in the ECHL for both Cincinnati and Phoenix, Miller posted 21 assists and 25 points. The Cold Spring Harbor, NY native also played in the AHL for Binghamton, Milwaukee and Hamilton. In all the, 6-foot, 205-pounder played in eight games while recording one assist.

Miller played three years of collegiate hockey at the University of Vermont from 2001-04, before leaving school to play professionally in Germany. After two seasons over seas, Miller returned to the states to play for the Flint Generals of the UHL (since renamed IHL) in 2006-07. In 73 games with Flint, Miller posted 44 assists and 57 points, finishing fourth overall in the league for scoring among defensemen.

2008-09 season ticket packages are selling now at (702) 471-PUCK. The Wranglers play all 36 regular season home games at the Orleans Arena, located at the Orleans Hotel and Casino at 4500 W. Tropicana Avenue. Opening night is scheduled for Thursday, October 23rd at the Orleans Arena.
