Chuck-A-Puck" Returns

June 17, 2008 - ECHL (ECHL)
Trenton Devils News Release

TRENTON, NJ (June 17, 2008) - The Trenton Devils announced today that the popular intermission game "Chuck-a-Puck," in which contestants compete to come the closest to the center target than anyone else, will return for the 2008-09 season. The T-Devils are also teaming up with the New Jersey Education Association with the proceeds from the event being donated to the NJEA's Frederick L. Hipp Foundation for Excellence in Education.

Starting with Trenton's home opener against the Johnstown Chiefs on October 17, and continuing for every home game of the season, fans can purchase pucks to throw for $1 at the NJEA's table on the main concourse of Sovereign Bank Arena. The fan whose puck is closest to the center target will win half of the proceeds from the puck purchases, while the other half will be donated to the Hipp Foundation.

"Bringing back Chuck-a-Puck will build on our great relationship with the T-Devils, and will provide fan-friendly entertainment and support both New Jersey's public schools and its children," says NJEA Associate Director of Communications Dawn Hiltner. "For kids to truly be successful there has to be a community approach and working with community-minded teams like the Devils helps the NJEA achieve that perspective."

The Hipp Foundation, established in 1993, was created to provide opportunities for school employees to expand their visions of excellence in New Jersey classrooms and schools. More than $1 million has been given to school employees in the form of grants.

Season tickets for the 2008-09 season are now available! For information log onto www.trentondevils.com or call 609-599-9500.
