New Jersey Jackals News Release

The Jackals committed a season-high four errors en route to an 18-4 loss in the rubber game of their three-game set against the Wichita Wingnuts.

The Wingnuts tied a team record with three home runs in the third, part of an eight-run inning that knocked out starter Matt Chico. The former major leaguer has allowed 20 runs (18 earned) in the 7.1 innings pitched in 2012.

Ryan Hinson, co-leader in wins for the Wingnuts in 2011, allowed one run in six innings.

Wingnuts' 2B Jake Kahaulelio was 3-5 with two home runs and five RBIs while CF Mitch Einertson scored three runs and was a triple away from the cycle. The Wingnuts batted around in both the third and sixth innings, scoring 13 combined runs.

The 18 runs scored was one shy of the team record. The Wingnuts scored 19 runs August 27th, 2011 against the El Paso Diablos.

The Jackals leave Lawrence-Dumont Stadium with a 4-3 record. The Winguts improve to the same record.

The Jackals have an off day Thursday, but will play three games against the Lincoln Saltdogs Friday through Sunday to conclude their mid-west road trip. The Jackals will send out former reliever Steve Fox (1-0, 9.00 ERA). The Saltdogs will counter with Chandler Barnard (0-0, 3.60 ERA).
