
Defender Navarro, Forward Walker and Midfielder Ilich Join Orange County Blues

IRVINE, Calif. (April 1, 2015) - Orange County Blues are proud to announce the signing of Alberto Navarro, Amani Walker, and Nikola Ilich for the 2015 USL season.
Defender Alberto Navarro attended California State University Bakersfield and played four seasons with the Roadrunners. He made nine appearances with PDL side Fresno Fuego before joining the Atlanta Silverbacks from the North American Soccer League in 2012. The defender made 36 appearances and scored one goal during his two year term with the Silverbacks. The native of Delano, Calif. transferred to FC Edmonton in 2014 and appeared a total of 18 times for the NASL team.
Amani Walker is a University of California Irvine graduate. The 25-year-old forward was named NSCAA All-Far West Region first team in 2010. Walker ranked sixth in UCI's career points and fourth in career goals with a total of 27. From San Diego, Calif., the Anteater played with Orange County Blue Star in 2010, appearing in 16 games and tallying 12 goals that year. Walker signed with NASL team Minnesota Stars FC (now Minnesota United FC) in 2011 and helped the team win the championship that year. In 2013, the forward moved to the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Walker has also made an appearance with the Jamaican U20 national team.
Nikola Ilich, a 22-year-old Vista, Calif. native, was a standout trialist in the open combine held by the team at the beginning of the year. Ilich was called back to train with the team before signing with the club at the beginning of the season. He attended Vanguard University in Costa Mesa, Calif., and accumulated eight goals and three assists while appearing in 19 games for the Lions in 2011. After his sophomore year, the midfielder spent various months touring and playing in Europe before making it back to Southern California.
The Blues next face Vancouver Whitecaps FC 2 Sunday, April 12th. Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. at UC Irvine's Anteater Stadium.
