Kansas City Current News Release
KANSAS CITY - With the 2022 NWSL regular season coming to a close, the league announced today that defender Hailie Mace has been named to the Sept./Oct. NWSL Best XI of the Month, presented by Mastercard. This is Mace's second time to earn this award and the third straight month that Kansas City has been represented.
Mace started and appeared in all but ten minutes of the five games the Current played through the month. She had two goals through the month, including the game winning tally against Gotham Sept. 11 and the late equalizer against Portland Sept. 18. She was second on the team with 14 tackles and had 112 successful passes from her defensive position. In addition, Mace's play earned her a second-straight call to play with the U.S. Women's National Team this month.
Mace and her Current teammates will open the NWSL Playoffs Sunday, Oct. 16 at 4 p.m. at the Houston Dash, the first playoff game in club history. The club is inviting all fans to join the team's Watch Party Series, presented by Boulevard Brewing Co. Sunday's party kicks off at Bar K at 3 p.m. CT. For details, click here.
