North Carolina Courage News Release

CARY, NC - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) today announced North Carolina Courage midfielder Debinha as September/October's Player of the Month, as voted by the NWSL Media Association. She and defender Carson Pickett were named to the NWSL Best XI for the months, presented by MasterCard, as announced by the league Friday.

Leading the league in scoring in the closing weeks of the regular season, Debinha tallied a whopping seven goals, including two braces and a hat trick, to help the Courage to a 4-1-1 record through the team's final six games. Tallying over half of her goals in the final full month of the regular season, the attacker opened her September campaign with a pair of goals in North Carolina's 5-1 win over Racing Louisville on September 10.

After featuring for a full 90 minutes in the Courage's 2-1 loss to OL Reign on September 17, Debinha recorded her second brace of the season with a two-goal performance in the team's 3-0 rout of the Orlando Pride on September 21.

The Brazilian international rounded out her 2022 scoring ledger with her first career hat trick on September 24, notching all three goals in North Carolina's 3-0 shutout of NJ/NY Gotham FC. Enjoying a career-best scoring campaign this season, Debinha finished third in the 2022 NWSL Golden Boot race with 12 goals in 18 games.

Pickett's back-to-back successful months have earned her fourth Best XI of the Month honor this year. Pickett has been an integral piece for the Courage both defensively and offensively, finishing the regular season tied for first in the league in assists with six feeds.
