August 6, 2019 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Ottawa 67's News Release
OTTAWA-GATINEAU - The Canadian Football League announced Tuesday that REDBLACKS receiver/returner DeVonte Dedmon has been named one of the Shaw CFL Week 8 Top Performers.
Dedmon had a historic night for the REDBLACKS in Montreal on Friday, combining for a grand total of 382 return yards and both punt and kick-off return touchdowns, in what was a thrilling 30-27 overtime win over the Alouettes.
Breaking it down, Dedmon had eight punt returns, which he combined for 189 returning yards, including a 95 yard return to the house, as well as four kickoff returns, which totaled for 187 yards and a 111 yard return for a touchdown. The punt return will be seen on highlight lists for years to come after the shifty returner broke at least a half-dozen tackles while managing to stay on his feet. He also added a 6 yard missed field goal return to his tally, bringing his total to 382 yards, which is the second-most returning yards in a single game in CFL history and the most-ever by an Ottawa CFLer.

2. DeVonte Dedmon, WR/KR, Ottawa
3. Cody Fajardo, QB, Saskatchewan
Dedmon and his REDBLACKS teammates will be back in action this Friday, as the REDBLACKS travel to Edmonton to face the Eskimos.
