The Michigan Baseball Foundation's 2011 grant application season is in full swing. Grant applications can be downloaded at Loons.com or picked up at Dow Diamond, weekdays from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. All applications seeking consideration for an MBF grant must be submitted by January 10, 2011. Over the past three years, MBF has awarded 88 grants totaling $300,590 to non-profit organizations from ten regional counties.
In 2009, MBF created its Dow Diamond All-Star program, which enables its members to contribute to future enhancements of Dow Diamond. As 2010 comes to a close, consider donating to the Dow Diamond All-Stars Fund with a tax-deductible contribution. Supporters will be able to select a distinct level of giving, commensurate with a Dow Diamond benefit package, with levels of giving starting at $10. The donations will support capital projects and improvements to ensure that Dow Diamond remains an economic, social, and charitable asset for years to come. To make a contribution, visit the Dow Diamond All-Stars page on Loons.com.
The Michigan Baseball Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation and public charity, which was formed in 2006 to generate regional economic development through creative partnerships and grants and to enhance the efforts of regional organizations that serve young people. The Michigan Baseball Foundation owns and operates Dow Diamond, home of the Great Lakes Loons, a Class A affiliate of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Foundation received its initial funding from The Dow Chemical Company Foundation, The Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, The Dow Corning Corporation, The Rollin M. Gerstacker Foundation, The Charles J. Strosacker Foundation and The Bill and Linda Stavropoulos Foundation.
