
De Souza and La Fiera Race Past Texas

HIDALGO, Texas - Robson De Souza scored four goals and dished out two assist as Hidalgo La Fiera raced past the Texas Strikers by a final score of 26-3 on Thursday afternoon at State Farm Arena.
The victory for La Fiera (12-2) gives them the lead on goal difference of the Central Division of the PASL ahead of the Dallas Sidekicks and Monterrey Flash.
Hidalgo scored two early goals from Robson De Souza and Joel Perez and it gave them a 2-0 lead early in the first quarter.
Texas Strikers (0-14) responded with a pair of goals of their own as Dalitzo Muluzi and William Garcia tied at 2 apiece as it would be as close as Texas would get in the game.
La Fiera would score 10 times before the first half ended which was highlighted by a Carlos Farias brace and a pair of De Souza assists. The score at the half would be 12-2.
Hidalgo continued their scoring ways after the break as they added six more goals which were paced by the hat trick of Erick Flores and all came during the power play. The score at the time was 18-2 in favor of La Fiera
Texas broke the 17 goal run by Hidalgo in the fourth quarter as Ivan Martinez scored a consolation goal that made it 19-3.
De Souza finished his four goal, two assist performance in the fourth quarter as Hidalgo scored seven times after Texas scored to make it a 26-3 win.
Other key performers for La Fiera were Carlos Farias with and Armando Teran with three goals and four assist each and Juan Antonio Vargas contributed with three goals.
Brownsville Goal keeper Juan Gamboa earned the victory for La Fiera with eight saves while notching his 12th victory of the season. La Fiera went 7-for-7 on the power play.
Hidalgo La Fiera will play their final road game of the season in Saltillo next Thursday, February 13th at the Deportivo RSS with the kickoff set for 8:05 pm.
The last home game for La Fiera will be Sunday, February 16th at State Farm Arena when they host the Tulsa revolution with the kickoff set for 5:05 pm.
