Three Hall of Famers to be Honored in Wichita, Dallas

Published on February 6, 2014 under Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL) News Release

The Indoor Soccer Hall of Fame today announced two upcoming induction ceremonies will take place later this month in Wichita, KS and Dallas.

In conjunction with the Wichita B-52s of the Professional Arena Soccer League, the ISHOF will honor long-time Wichita Wings and Kansas City Comets defender Kim Roentved at halftime of the B-52s-Dallas Sidekicks game on February 9. Former Wings Head Coach and General Manager Roy Turner will be on hand to pay tribute to Roentved's stellar career.

On February 16, the PASL's Dallas Sidekicks will honor the two most iconic figures in franchise history when Tatu and Gordon Jago receive their ISHOF awards before the Sidekicks game against the Harrisburg Heat.

ISHOF Executive Director Sydney Nusinov will be on hand both nights to personally congratulate the inductees. Earlier this year Nusinov presented awards to Zoltan Toth, Juli Veee and Guy Newman (accepting on behalf of Ron Newman) at halftime of the San Diego Sockers game against the Las Vegas Legends.

"The Indoor Soccer Hall of Fame has made great inroads this year thanks to the support of our committee members and the cooperation of several teams," said Nusinov. "People are realizing how important it is to keep our legendary players involved in the sport and how important this historical link to the past is. The players also appreciate being recognized and remembered and it gives current and future players something to strive for."

The Indoor Soccer Hall of Fame will announce its third class of players in early March.
