January 5, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Dayton Gems News Release

Dayton, OH - The Dayton Gems professional hockey team, a proud member of the "AA" Central Hockey League, released additional details on the team's upcoming "Salute To Beer League Hockey Night" this Saturday when they host the Fort Wayne Komets at 7pm inside Hara Arena.

In addition to the regular season matchup between the Gems and first place Komets beginning at 7pm, the Gems will be hosting an amateur exhibition game between local Dayton-area men's league team 'MegaCity Hockey" and the promotional night's Texas-based hosts "RUT Hockey" at 3pm on Cassano's Italian Ice inside Hara Arena.

The afternoon "Beer League" exhibition game is free and open to the public, with the Gems official team store open as well for the duration of the matinee.

Traveling from their base in San Antonio, Texas, eleven players will take to the ice to battle their amateur counterparts from the Miami Valley in a friendly exhibition that will use a 15-minute, stop time regulation, and play under standard USA Hockey adult rules.

Both teams will return to the ice during the first intermission of the Gems game later that evening, lining up to finish their day with an exciting exhibition shootout for the crowd.

While the afternoon "Beer League" game is free, tickets are still available to Saturday night's main feature at 7pm, with the first 500 fans 18+ receiving a limited edition Gems pint glass. Saturday night also features special $2 draft beers and the Gems will be wearing special RUT-inspired hunting camouflaged jerseys to be later auctioned off for charity.

Tickets to Saturday night's game against Fort Wayne are now available by calling the Gems ticket office at 275-7777 or by visiting www.DaytonGems.com. Discounted tickets are also available for groups of ten or more, and include special group perks.
