Allen Americans News Release
In the last few weeks over the holiday season the Allen Americans have not only stayed engaged with their regular season games but they have also donated much personal time to the community. They ring in this new year of 2012 and continue their morale with involvement to the city of Allen. Here are some past and upcoming events below.
What we've been up to
- Kids' Club Event - December 23rd - the Allen Event Center had a gathering of sixty plus kids before an Allen Americans game with entertainment.
- Holiday Sponsor Skate - December 28th - At the Allen Event Center a few of the Allen Americans players including Clouthier, Layton, Deitsch, Macintosh, and Hepditch donated time to skate with the team sponsors. The sponsors were also able to bring along family and friends.
- Adult Holiday Hockey Camp - December 28th and 29th from 7-8:30, held at the Allen Community Ice Rink Erik Adams and a couple of the Allen Americans Players attended two of the four night adult holiday hockey camp. They worked on skills and the 'finer details' of skating.
Where we will be:
- Jr. Americans Practice - Monday, January 9th from 6:15-7:15 a few Allen Americans Players will volunteer their time to attend the buckled Bantam/Peewee practice.
- School Visits - Tuesday, January 10th from 3-4:30 - Held at Marion Elementary in Allen a few Allen Americans Players will make a visit to the school for a Leadership program with approximately ten to twelve sixth grade boys in attendance. They will be discussing leadership skills, how to be a good role model and also what it takes to be a professional hockey player. There will be more school visits to follow over the course of the next few weeks.
