CHL Central Hockey League

Fort Wayne's Nick Boucher Named Sher-Wood/CHL Goaltender of the Month

January 5, 2012 - Central Hockey League (CHL) News Release

GLENDALE, AZ (January 5, 2012) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Fort Wayne's Nick Boucher has been named the Sher-Wood Central Hockey League Goaltender of the Month for December/2011. Boucher will receive a Sher-Wood/CHL logoed watch courtesy of Sher-Wood and the Central Hockey League to recognize his accomplishment.

The Komets have been one of the better teams in the CHL and a large factor of this success comes from net minder Boucher who has recorded some of the best goaltending numbers in the league. The Leduc, Alberta native finds himself first place in almost every category, including his 2.28 G.A.A., his .922 save percentage, and his 18 total wins.

In the month of December, Boucher went 10-1-1 only playing in one game without earning a point for his team. Boucher allowed twenty-four goals in twelve starts with his hot play helping push the Komets to first place in the Turner Conference.

Other goaltenders receiving consideration for the monthly award for December include Allen's Marco Cousineau, Bloomington's Zane Kalemba, Quad City's David McKee, Rapid City's Danny Battochio and Tim Boron, Rio Grande Valley's Wylie Rogers, Texas' Mark Guggenberger, Tulsa's Ian Keserich and Wichita's Adam Russo.
