Today's Game : The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) host the West Michigan Whitecaps (affiliates of the Detroit Tigers) in the second game of a six-game series at Day Air Ballpark in the heart of the Water Street District.

Last Game: Tuesday : West Michigan 9, Dayton 2. Josh Crouch hit two home runs for the Whitecaps in the series opener. Dayton's Hector Rodriguez hit a home run and Cade Hunter added an RBI double for the Dragons.

In the Standings : The Dragons are tied for fourth place, six games behind Great Lakes, the division leader in the East Division of the Midwest League.

In April : The Dragons went 9-13 in April. Their top hitters were Cam Collier (.298, 7 HR, 25 RBI, .933 OPS), Hector Rodriguez (.325, 3 HR, 16 RBI, .892 OPS), Sal Stewart (.300, 2 HR, 11 RBI, 19 R, .895 OPS). Jay Allen II missed 11 of the 22 games but still batted .375, 3 HR, 5 RBI. On the mound, Rhett Lowder posted a 1.86 ERA in 19.1 innings. Collier could be a candidate for both MWL Player of the Month and Reds Minor League Player of the Month.

The Dragons rank second in the MWL in home runs with 22 and have the league leader in homers (Cam Collier, 7).

On Friday night in a 14-10 win at Lansing, the Dragons collected 20 hits for the first time since they had 24 on July 4, 2012. The Dragons had 15 hits in their loss at Lansing on Sunday.

The Dragons rank first in Minor League Baseball (120 teams) in average attendance (7,874).

Rhett Lowder has been named Midwest League Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 22-28. (1-0, 0.00, 6 IP, 1 R, 0 ER, 9 SO).

Cam Collier leads the MWL in home runs (7), RBI (25), and extra base hits (12). He is fourth in slugging pct (.607).

Hector Rodriguez has a four-game hitting streak, batting .471 (8 for 17) with a home run, two doubles, and five RBI during the streak. For the year, he is tied for the Midwest League lead in base hits with 27 and ranks 9 th in batting average at .325.

Cade Hunter has a five-game hitting streak, batting .444 (8 for 18) with one home run and five RBI during the streak.

Jay Allen II's .375 batting average would rank second in the MWL, but he is 11 plate appearances short of the minimum to qualify.
