Dawgs to Host Marksmen for Preseason Game

September 14, 2018 - Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) - Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs News Release

ROANOKE, Va. - The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs and Fayetteville Marksmen have scheduled a preseason game to take place at Berglund Center on Saturday, October 13 at 7:05 PM. It will be the only preseason game during the Rail Yard Dawgs 2018 training camp.

"Having a preseason game is huge in the evaluation process," said Rail Yard Dawgs head coach Dan Bremner. "I always try to set up drills to mimic game situations as closely as possible but there is nothing quite like the competition of a real game."

Players will report to Roanoke for training camp on October 8 and first hit the ice on October 10.

"It will be a great opportunity for guys to earn a roster spot," said Bremner.

Fayetteville has an additional preseason game scheduled for October 12 in Macon against the Mayhem.

Full and half season ticket holders will receive tickets to the game for no additional cost. The general public may purchase tickets for $8 beginning on September 24, the same day single game tickets go on sale for the full year.

All seating for the preseason game will be general admission. Bud Light Club 611 will not be open.

The Rail Yard Dawgs open their regular season on October 19 in Fayetteville against the Marksmen. Roanoke's home opener sponsored by Haley Toyota will take place on October 20 at 7:05 PM against the Knoxville Ice Bears.
