Daugavins Named to All-Star Team

Mississauga, ON - The Mississauga St. Michael's Majors are pleased to announce that forward Kaspars Daugavins has been named to the Eastern Conference roster for the 2008 OHL All-Star Classic. This event will be taking place at the Steelback Centre in Sault Ste. Marie on February 5 and 6.

Despite missing a handful of games during December while representing Latvia at the 2008 IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship (B Pool), Daugavins continues to lead the Majors in all offensive categories. This includes goals (24), assists (25), points (49), power-play goals (6-tie) and shorthanded goals (2-tie). The 19 year-old winger was a 3rd Round pick of the Ottawa Senators in the 2006 NHL Draft.

Daugavins and co. will enjoy a big homestand this weekend as they entertain the Peterborough Petes on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m., the Ottawa 67's on Saturday afternoon at 4 p.m. and the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.
