Danville Dashers News Release

The Danville Dashers and the Steel City Warriors went to battle from the David S. Palmer Arena in Danville after almost a two hour delay. The Warriors struck first in this one, John Scully stuffed home rebound and put the Warriors up early. Gehrett Sargis knotted things up for the Dashers a little later on the power play. Nicola Levesque put the Warriors up just minutes before heading to the locker room to end the period.

The second period was an explosive one, that's for sure. Seven goals were scored in total in the second, and after two periods the score was knotted up at 5-5. Andrew Harrison scored two goals for the Dashers in the second, while Brian Soskin and Ryan Marcuz each scored one for Danville. Nikola Levesque scored one for the Warriors while MJ Graham scored two for the Warriors in the second period. The Dashers pepped Bryan Kalczynski with 26 shot in the second period, while only putting 8 on the Dashers net minders.

Going into the third period the game was knotted up at 5 apiece. That ended when Tim Bowman of the Warriors shot them into the lead with a wrister that went five hole on Matt Anthony. The Dashers had battled back five times in this game and did it one more time when Gehrett Sargis went top shelf on Kalczynski and tied it up for the Dashers. That was the last time the Dashers would have to tie things up in this game, as with 11 seconds left Ryan Marcuz gave the Dashers the lead and the win over Steel City. The Dashers are back in action tomorrow and Saturday against Watertown, here in Danville.
