Dashers' 4 Goals in Second the Difference in 6-2 Win

Danville, IL - The Dashers welcomed in the Mentor Ice Breakers for the first time in franchise history and came away with a 6-2 victory.

Danville opened the scoring quickly at the :23 second mark with Justin Brausen netting his second of the season with Marker and Martin getting the assists. Martin would add to the total at the 12:21 mark with a nice shot through the five hole on Eisenhower with assists from Atwell and Henning.

The second period is where things were broken wide open. Declan Conway got the Ice Breakers to within one with his first goal of the season at 9:36 with helpers from Grebenshchikov and Asselin. The Dashers would come roaring right back scoring four unanswered goals within a five-minute span to end the period. Daniel Martin would complete his hat trick and end the game with a four-point night (3G and 1A), Justin Brausen would tally his second of the evening and Liam Little scored his first pro goal.

The third saw things get very chipy and physical, with seven fighting penalties and three game misconducts. Mentor would add one later in the period off the stick of Brett Oldaker assisted by Ivan Vilcauskas.

Matt Kaludis earned his second consecturive victory stopping 42 of 44 shots faced, in his two starts he is 102 for 105 for a .971 save percentage. Mentor started Joel Eisenhower who was 30 for 36 and was pulled in the second period for Matthew Camilleri.

Both teams will be back in action tomorrow from the David S. Palmer Arena. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM.
