WINSTON-SALEM, NC (JUNE 19, 2012) - The Dash's three All-Star selections each played a pivotal role Tuesday night as the Carolina League defeated the California League 9-1 to end a three-year losing streak. Brady Shoemaker also won the Home Run Derby, which took place prior to the game.
Winston-Salem pitcher Matt Heidenreich started the game for the Carolina League All-Stars. In his home ballpark Heidenreich allowed a base hit and a run but retired the final three batters he faced.
Michael Earley started in right field and played the entirety of the game. He doubled and scored a run in the seventh to help push the Carolina League's lead to 9-1. Earley also participated in the Home Run Derby and knocked three home-runs.
