Darryl Williams Named Growlers Assistant Coach

ST. JOHN'S, NL - The Newfoundland Growlers in conjunction with the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League are proud to announce today that the team has hired Newfoundland and Labrador native Darryl Williams as their Assistant Coach.
"We are very lucky to have Darryl," Says Dean MacDonald, Chair of Deacon Sports and Entertainment. "His rich experience will be an invaluable resource. I am thrilled we are able to add Darryl to our coaching staff."
Williams joins the Growlers after his most recent coaching tenure with the New York Rangers where he was named assistant coach to Alain Vigneault in 2014. Prior to his time spent with the Rangers, he served six seasons as an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks. He was a member of the coaching staff for the St. John's Fog Devils of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League from 2005-2007.
A native of Labrador City, NL, Williams played 11 seasons of professional hockey including two games with the Los Angeles Kings during the 1992-93 season. Williams skated in a total of 676 games in the International Hockey League and American Hockey League registering 126 goals and 157 assists for 283 points.
