Buffalo, N.Y. (October 19, 2005) --- The Buffalo Bandits have announced that Head Coach Darris Kilgour has been named the team's new General Manager. Kilgour takes over for former GM Kurt Silcott, who accepted a similar role with the Calgary Roughnecks last month. Silcott spent the last eight seasons as General Manager of the club.

Last season, Kilgour lead the Bandits to a 11-5 regular season record. The Bandits lost in the first round of the NLL playoffs to the Rochester Knighthawks.

Kilgour's reputation as a player in the National Lacrosse League was one of domination, intimidation and toughness and his coaching style mirrors that of his playing days. He was named the sixth coach in Bandits history on July 18, 2002.

Kilgour's intense and aggressive style transformed an 8-8 team in 2002 into the physically punishing team that journeyed to the Champions Cup Finals last season. He was selected to coach the Eastern Division in the 2004 NLL All-Star game. Named Coach of the Year following the 2003 season, Kilgour's 12-win season in 2003 is the most in single-season franchise history. In five years as a head coach in the NLL, no Kilgour led team has ever missed the playoffs.

Kilgour started his coaching career with the Washington Power from 2000-2002, earning an 18-12 record and taking the Power into the semi-finals both seasons.

A three-time MILL/NLL All-Pro as a player, Kilgour was the first ever draft choice of the Bandits in 1992. The Niagara Falls, New York native played for Niagara Wheatfield High School where he was a two-time high school All-American in lacrosse.

Kilgour was a major part in each of Buffalo's three Major Indoor Lacrosse League Championships. He is currently the Bandits' all-time leader in penalty minutes (257) and ranks top five in every offensive category in the franchise's analogs: third in goals (128) and face-off wins (255), and fourth in assists (127) and points (255).
