Edmonton Rush News Release
The Edmonton Rush of the National Lacrosse League have announced the creation of a custom Edmonton Rush chopper to serve as a signature piece and inaugural memento for the club. The chopper, to be built by Orange County Choppers, will be unveiled at the Rush inaugural game on January 6, when they host San Jose at Rexall Place. Orange County Choppers, based in Montgomery, New York, is the home of the popular "American Chopper" television show, which airs on the Discovery Channel. Rush owner Bruce Urban recently traveled from Alberta to New York to visit OCC, where he made the arrangements to order the bike and met with the Teutel's--Paul Sr., Paul Jr., Mikey and all the entire OCC staff. The Teutel's build the bikes at OCC and are the stars of the "American Chopper" show.
The Edmonton Rush customized chopper is being built in New York at the Orange County Choppers shop. The chopper, similar to customized choppers built for other professional sports teams such as the New York Yankees, Kansas City Royals and New York Jets, will be commissioned for promotional purposes with the lacrosse team. This is the first chopper that O.C.C. has built for a Canadian sports team and the first Canadian O.C.C. chopper.
"An Orange County Chopper is a statement. The chopper speaks to what this team and game are all about: speed, backbone and finesse." Bruce Urban, Majority Owner and Governor, Edmonton Rush Lacrosse Club said. "Our chopper is for everyone - the team, the fans and the City of Edmonton."
In addition to unveiling the chopper at the first Rush game on January 6, one lucky Rush season ticket holder will win a trip for two to New York to meet Paul Teutel Sr., Paul Teutel Jr. and the rest of the cast and crew at Orange County Choppers at the O.C.C. shop. Only Rush season ticket holders will be entered to win this ultimate prize. Three other fans will win a mini replica of this Rush O.C.C. chopper on opening night.
