Darren Deflates Ads' Comeback to Give Hogs Fourth Straight Win
February 2, 2019 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Rockford IceHogs News Release
Rockford, Ill. - Darren Raddysh scored the overtime game-winner as the Rockford IceHogs overcame a late comeback effort from the Milwaukee Admirals to secure their fourth straight win Saturday night at UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena. The four-game winning streak is the IceHogs' longest of the season.
Raddysh netted the winner 1:27 into the overtime session. Jordan Schroeder entered the offensive zone down the left side, then set up Raddysh streaking to the net for the defenseman to convert high to the glove side of Milwaukee goaltender Troy Grosenick.
All four goals in regulation came in the third period. Dylan Sikura broke the ice for Rockford at the 2:40 mark of the frame, tapping in his team-leading thirteenth goal of the season after a net drive from Andreas Martinsen. Then William Pelletier padded the IceHogs lead on a bank shot off a Milwaukee defenseman with just under eight minutes left in the stanza.
Milwaukee battled back to earn a point thanks to late goals from Eeli Tolvanen and Yakov Trenin, both with the goalie pulled for the extra attacker.
IceHogs goaltender Anton Forsberg made 26 saves in the win, allowing two or fewer goals for the fourth time in his last five starts. Forsberg has posted a 2.01 GAA and a .934 save percentage over that span.
