
Danville sweeps Bluefield, extends winning streak to 5 games

Danville, VA - The Danville Braves swept the Bluefield Orioles on Sunday afternoon by a score of 5-4 to extend their winning streak to five games.
The Braves came out swinging scoring solo runs in both the first and second innings before the Orioles tied it in the top of the fourth inning. Silva scored two more runs in the fourth inning to give the Braves the lead again.
Ovandy Suero led off the seventh inning with a solo homerun to left field. Bluefield attempted a comeback in the top of the ninth scoring two runs.
Todd Blackford picked up his second win of the season pitching six innings allowing two runs on six hits, three walks and a strikeout. Donovan Hendricks pitched two and a thid innings in relief allowing two runs on four hits before Bryan Johnson finished out the game to pick up his second save of the season.
Wilfrido Perex received his first loss of the season for the Orioles after going six innings and allowing four runs on six hits, one walk and had eight strikeouts.
Danville has a day off on Monday before hosting the Kingsport Mets for three games starting on Tuesday.
