Your P-Rays will return for a 5:30 p.m. doubleheader versus Burlington on Tuesday, July 12 as part of four games in three days at Hunnicutt Field. This stand will also include 7:00 p.m. single games on Wednesday, July 13 and Thursday, July 14, also against Burlington. The team returns from winning four of five games on their just-completed road trip of July 5-10. Make this your week to come and see the Eastern Division contending Princeton Devil Rays!

*To date the P-Rays record is:
OVERALL RECORD: 13-6
HOME GAMES: 4-3
AWAY GAMES: 9-3
VS. EAST DIVISION: 10-6
VS. WEST DIVISION: 3-0

*The P-Rays maintained consistency on the five-game road trip. They started the trip as the league's top hitting team with a .281 average and maintained it on the trip by going 51-for-180 at the plate for a .283 average. On the mound, the team began the trip with a 3.80 earned run average and allowed only 15 earned runs for the five games. The team had only hit seven homers through their first 14 games but slugged eight homers on the five-game road trip.

*John Matulia and Ryan Bethel will enter the Tuesday night doubleheader still among the league's top hitters at .390 and .367 respectively.

*Ryan Royster, with five homers and 14 RBI's on the season, is now creeping into the league's top five in these categories.

*On Sunday, July 10, reliever Robert Findlay recorded his league-leading seventh "save."

*Also on Sunday, July 10, starting pitcher Matt Walker tossed seven more scoreless innings to lower his earned run average to 0.43.

PROMOTIONS & GIVEAWAYS THIS WEEK:

TUESDAY, JULY 12 (5:30 p.m. doubleheader): CHRISTIAN BASEBALL NIGHT: All people presenting a church bulletin at the front gate will be admitted for only one dollar. Gates open at 4:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 13 (7:00 p.m. single game): WV CHILDREN'S HEALTH INSURANCE PROGRAM (WVCHIP) NIGHT: Learn more about this important state agency and there will be prize drawings throughout the game. Their mascot, Chippy the Chipmunk, will also be in attendance. Gates open at 6:00 p.m.

THURSDAY, JULY 14 (7:00 p.m. single game): FIRST CENTURY BANK STADIUM REPLICA NIGHT: The first 500 fans through the gate will receive a FREE stadium replica model (as pictured at the beginning of this newsletter) of Hunnicutt Field courtesy of First Century Bank. Do not be late for this "one of a kind" giveaway item! Gates open at 6:00 p.m.

*The P-Rays return to the road July 15-17 for a trip to Johnson City versus the Cardinals. Please remember you can listen to the "away" games on WAEY-AM1490 or on the worldwide web at www.star95.com or www.princetondevilrays.com with the "voice" of the Princeton Devil Rays, Jarrod Talbott, bringing you all the play-by-play action.

*Also in the world of radio, do not forget that every Thursday from 6:00-7:00 p.m. you can listen to the "Appy Hour" on ESPN Radio AM-1050 with host Dave Ebert for a show devoted solely to Appalachian League baseball.

*Do not forget that the STAR95/P-Rays "Home Run Derby" for fans has been rescheduled for Saturday, July 16 at Hunnicutt Field. This is a chance for fans of all ages to compete for trophies in various age groups to determine who the best home run hitters are in our area. *We are now filling the bus for our annual "Fans Bus Trip" on Saturday, July 30 to see the P-Rays take on the Greeneville Astros in Greeneville, TN. Cost is $25.00 per person and the fee includes your game ticket and all transportation costs. The bus will depart Hunnicutt Field at 2:45 p.m. for the 7:00 p.m. game with the bus to return to Princeton immediately following the game. The bus is filling up quickly so make your reservation by contacting the P-Rays' front office at (304) 487-2000.

ONE VERY IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL NOTE: The P-Rays will be conducting (in conjunction with U.S. Cellular) a "Heroes Night" at our game on Friday, July 22. At this game, all firemen, policemen, EMS/Rescue Squad workers, and military service personnel wearing an identifying shirt will be admitted free. We ask all of our e-mail readers to spread the word of this event to anyone you know who is in one of these professions to attend as we honor those who put their life on the line for us every day.
