DANVILLE, Va. - Danville dropped another close contest Sunday night, falling to Burlington 3-2. Tyler Neslony had a strong offensive performance in his D-Braves debut going two-for-three with an RBI and a run scored, but the Braves found themselves on the losing end of another low-scoring affair.

In the bottom of the second, Darien McLemore delivered an RBI single to score Neslony and end the Braves run drought after 20 scoreless innings. The Braves would add another run when Neslony knocked a sacrifice fly to deep centerfield in the bottom of the eighth, but Danville was unable to do any further damage despite having the tying run 90 feet away.

Braves pitcher Jaret Hellinger did not allow a hit until the fifth inning, allowing just two baserunners through the first four innings. The Royals were able to finally put something together in the top of the fifth, however, scoring two runs on a walk, two singles, and a fielding error.

Burlington added a run via a sacrifice fly from Logan Nottebrok in the bottom of the seventh for what would prove to be the game winning run.

Royals starter Cristian Castillo pitched seven innings of one-run ball, allowing seven hits en route to picking up the victory.

The two teams will head to Burlington to complete the second half of this four game series Monday and Tuesday. The Braves will then travel to Bluefield before returning home for a three-game set with Kingsport beginning Saturday, July 9.
